A used excavator can look fine in a yard photo and still leave with a different bucket, a missing accessory or an undocumented change in condition. Before the machine is collected for transport, ask for a short photo record taken on the same day. It gives you a practical reference for the unit, its condition and the way it was prepared for shipment.

Ask for front, both sides, rear, cab and bucket views. These do not need to be studio photos. The useful part is that they are clear enough to show the paint condition, glass, guards, hoses and any visible dents on the day the machine leaves the yard.
Request a fresh close-up of the serial plate and the hour meter in the same set. Older sales photos are useful, but a same-day record helps confirm that the unit collected is the unit discussed in the quotation.
Attachments are easy to overlook once a machine is being moved. Ask for a photo showing the bucket fitted to the machine, plus separate photos of any quick coupler, breaker, extra bucket, spare parts or tools included in the order. It is much easier to resolve a mismatch before the truck leaves.
A photo taken after loading onto the local transport truck is one of the most useful records in the set. It shows the actual machine handed to the logistics team and gives you a time-stamped reference before it moves to the port or depot.
Ask for close photos of the tracks or wheels, the boom position and the lashing points. The correct method depends on the machine size and shipping arrangement, but the record should make it clear that the excavator is stable and that vulnerable areas have not been left loose for transport.
For a container shipment, ask for one view before the doors are closed and one of the sealed doors. For a flat rack or breakbulk movement, a full side view after final lashing is more useful. Once a booking or container number is available, it can be included in the record together with the shipping documents.
Save the photo set with the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading details. If a question comes up later about condition, accessories or loading preparation, you have a simple reference instead of relying on memory or a mixed folder of older sales images.
These photos are a practical shipping record, not a replacement for an independent inspection, a proper loading plan or cargo insurance. They help buyers ask the right questions before a machine starts its journey.
If a fresh loading photo shows a different bucket, a missing guard or a condition you did not expect, stop and ask before the next transport step is booked. A seller should be able to explain any substitution clearly and update the written equipment list. It is far easier to correct a detail while the machine is still in the yard than after it has reached the port.
For available used excavators, we can provide current machine photos, working videos, inspection options and export quotation details before you confirm. View available machines or send us your required model and destination.
